Elements of Movement

The Elements of Movement
Sunday May 8th, 2011
Woodchester Village hall. Gloucestershire.

A one-day workshop with Clare Ballard

MOVEMENT is what we do, what we are, and how we express ourselves.

We started life as movement. We move in and through our daily life. As we move so we are.

Do we fill the space available to us? Do we take life at a run or dawdle and procrastinate? Do we push or pull others in our life? Are we present in our daily life? Do we relate to life through our senses or feeling or mind?

By careful observation and engagement we can re-engage with the natural spontaneity that can give us more choice and support the flow, vitality and blossoming of our life.

We will explore nonstylised or improvised free movement and body awareness. No previous experience is necessary, just a willingness to explore and play.

This is the first of a series of 4 workshops given by Clare Ballard and Julian Carlyon in collaboration.

Clare Ballard has been an Osteopath for many years and has recently completed training with Sandra Reeve in ‘Move Into Life’ as well as having worked with Suprapto Suryodarmo and other movement teachers over a number of years.
